Taylor is a seasoned security professional with a strong background in crisis response coordination, strategic risk management, and security risk assessments. With prior experience at the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC) and the New Zealand Defence Force (NZDF), Taylor brings a wealth of expertise in providing assurance to ministers and chief executives, as well as protecting critical assets and personnel. Taylor's academic background in law and political studies, combined with a certificate in intelligence assessment, further enhances his capability to analyse complex security challenges and provide strategic solutions.​

Taylor’s experience spans both ends of the security risk management spectrum, operational and strategic. With experience in assessing risks to assets and implementing specific controls, Taylor has a comprehensive understanding of operational security. Furthermore, Taylor's expertise extends to understanding the strategic risks to organisations from various crises, including cyber threats, natural disasters, espionage, and economic crises. This holistic perspective allows Taylor to provide strategic guidance on security risk management, ensuring organisations are prepared to mitigate risks effectively and protect their interests in a dynamic threat landscape.
