SECURITY AUDITS

In response to the installation of a range of new Physical Security mechanisms across their nationwide property portfolio, a Government Agency engaged ICARAS to conduct a comprehensive Protective Security Audit Programme.  This audit programme was designed to ensure that the work completed as part of the security uplift project was fit for purpose and also to identify any remaining security vulnerabilities that would require treatment. This inspection process also provided information to assist local staff regarding the introduction of the new duress guide.  Approximately 50 sites were audited in a two-month programme.

Specific deliverables for this audit process included:

  • A report providing an overview of any organisational issues.

  • Individual site reports incorporating a site summary, confirmation of security zoning compliance, a review of CCTV coverage, reception desks, client facing meeting rooms and the duress system.

  • A  consideration of the application of the organisation’s minimum security requirements and whether these were in line with the Protective Security Requirements (PSR).

  • Identification of any outstanding security vulnerabilities that required mitigation.

  • Confirmation that the organisation’s staff understood the duress guidelines and how they should be implemented.

ICARAS has conducted a number of similar audit programmes across the public and private sectors, and will always ensure that the outputs of any such audit programme align with the detailed requirements of the organisation.
